eServ helps Truck Manufacturer with Cost Savings Program

The Challenge

eServ was asked to identify a list of cost savings areas for our customer’s newly released high performance truck.

• This potential list would supplement their current findings.
• Our customer wanted to detect anywhere within the design and manufacturing that might represent a cost savings.

The Solution

In a time span of eight weeks, eServ interrogated a current production truck, reviewed an initial list of 50+ items with our customer’s engineers and presented a formal proposal for items having potential cost savings.

• A one year payback for capital expenditures was stipulated.
• Our customer approved 14 of the original 50 items for further eServ activity.
• eServ delivered renderings, solid models and rapid prototyping within two weeks of the requested start date.

The Results

• Our customer was presented 14 cost saving areas, half of which they have decided to pursue.
• The cost savings for those projects represent an estimated total of $621,126.
